Two Measly Weeks

Can it be true?  Christmas is only two weeks off? Those who think I’m highly organized and prepared for such a momentous yearly celebration will be dismayed and possibly even heartbroken at my state of unpreparedness for 2008.  It simply came too fast this year.  I’m not sure what happened, but I know I didn’t take naps.  So I was obviously busy doing something important…. just can’t remember what it was that consumed my precious planning time.

My calendar that I keep in my purse with the all-important family schedule has been missing for weeks.  I don’t even remember the last time I saw it.  The calendar to my right, above the computer, is still on November.  Need I say more?  I just feel like I need a nap and then I’ll be able to face this injustice of November and the first 12 days of December passing in the blink of an eye.  But is there time for a nap?  No, I’m off to hockey drop off and hockey practice.  Wednesday nights are not my own.  Thank God for a carpool where I drop off Austin!  And I’ve been taking Keeve, our 10 year old, to his practice on Wednesday nights for three months.  Today Rick asked me who ties Keeve’s skates!  The nerve.  What does he think I do???  Slow down in front of the Coyotes Ice Den and push out Keeve followed by his equipment bag?  NO!  I don my parka of old and march into the Den to tie and later untie hockey skates.  It’s what I do.  (I need to add it to resume.)

Just tonight, I think I may sleep in the van while Keeve skates to his little heart’s content.  Shhhhhh.

MTAE, if you could please list your last five years of homeruns, I’ll gladly pass it on to my husband. :o)

Jill and LaV, YES! I slept in the van, but after 25 minutes, my sister called and woke me up. But it was a good 25 minutes.

Sorry. I didn’t realize that 7:30pm was nap time!

Yes – I want to hear what those HOMERUNS are all about – I suspect they’re beyond my husband’s budget…
