Need a good cry? Grab a tissue.

August 30, 2009

So, as you can well imagine, I read a lot of adoption blogs.  That’s part of the pre-adoption therapy process: knowing that others are waiting, others have their children home, and still others are spending their lives helping orphans who will not have the opportunity to live in a family like ours.  Here is one such young lady who is following God’s call on her life to serve the people in Uganda.  She is 20 years old… and a mother of 13 children… and if that isn’t enough… she feeds 400 children every day!  Oh my.

Go have a peak at her blog.  Warning: It’ll break your heart…. but breaking is good sometimes.

This makes me want to sell everything in this house that collects dust and jump on a plane to Uganda.  But, that is not where I’m called at the moment.  I’m called to serve the children I have been given and to prepare for the orphan that is coming home soon… never to be an orphan ever again.  Are you doing your part to serve the orphans of the world?  If we all only did OUR part…..

Uplifting Music

July 2, 2009

Just wanted to share with y’all (that was for LaVonna) some cool blogs that have great music.  I blast them through the house regularly to increase cleaning speed, to uplift the hearers and to replace other people’s music.  No names mentioned, but we have a few headbangers.  Their song selections makes me want to bang my head.

Here is my all time favorite:  http://whatweareherefor.blogspot.com/  We’ve been listening to Kelly’s choices for several months.  Kelly’s family is also adopting from Colombia.

My second all time favorite:  http://thejasandersfamily.blogspot.com/  I don’t know these folks, but they are believers and have cute kids!  She is due with number four in a month, fully supporting church growth. haha.

My third all time favorite:  http://oatsvallteam.blogspot.com/  I don’t know these folks either, but they are WAY into adoption.  Awesome!  They got some rockin’ Kirk Franklin on there.  Rock on.

My fourth all time favorite:  http://kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com/  Katie lives in Uganda and takes care of 13 or so little girls in her “home” and feeds many more!  Amazing woman of God!

OK, there you go.  Enjoy.  (Down with Disciple and Skillet!)
